Itinerary

1 DAY: CUSCO – CALCA – LARES, HOT SPRINGS – CUNCANY

We leave Cusco at 6 am to go to the Incas’ sacred valley by bus, we’ll visit Pisaq ruins and then we’ll go through Calca location to get into the abra of amparaes as far as Lares’ hot springs. Afterwards we’ll have a break to have the lunch then to go on as far as Cuncany where it will be our camping place.

2 DAY: CUNCANY – IPSAYCOCHA

This day we’ll go walking through a little valley as far as the Huacawasi community. People there produce handicrafts and clothes, observing how much agility the women have to make ponchos and clothes is fantastic. After visiting this community we go on up to the Condor path where the altitude is about 4,100m. From there it is possible to see the occidental side of chain of mountains, among them is the most important, the veronica (5,750m). The way down will take us to a beautiful high-andean lagoon at Ipsaycocha, place where we’ll camp the night.

3 DAY: IPSAYCOCHA – PATACANCHA – HUYLLOC – PUMAMARKA – OLLANTAYTAMBO – AGUAS CALIENTES

This day we’ll go to Ollantaytambo’s communities (Patacancha, Huylloc and Pumamarka) famous places due to their textile art. The lunch will be had in Huylloc after that we’ll go to Pumamarka to see the Inca’s Andes that are being still used to produce. Eventually we arrive to Ollantaytambo where we will get on the train as far as Aguas Calientes where we will stay to sleep.

4 DAY: AGUAS CALIENTES – MACHUPICCHU – CUSCO

In the morning, after having the breakfast, we’ll go to the bus station to board a bus to Machu Picchu, once we arrive, you will have a guided visit and free time to explore by yourself for 3 hours both. Having finished the tour we come back to Aguas Calientes by bus, there you can visit the town and have the lunch, then we will take the train to come back to Cusco.
